My contract of service expired more than two weeks after my child’s date of birth. I did not manage to fully take my additional Government-Paid Paternity Leave (GPPL) before contract expiry or my employer did not provide me with any additional GPPL. Can I apply for a top-up of Government-Paid Paternity Benefit (GPPB)?

Only fathers whose contracts expired at any time before the first two weeks of the child’s date of birth (DOB) or Formal Intent to Adopt (FIA), are entitled to a GPPB top-up.

However, you may email contactus@profamilyleave.gov.sg to appeal for a GPPB top-up if your contract of service expired after two weeks, but before four weeks from your child’s DOB/FIA. You may make such an appeal even if your employer did not provide any additional GPPL. Each appeal will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
