Natural fathers of Singapore Citizen children whose date of birth or EDD is on or after 1 Jan 2024 will be eligible for the additional GPPL. The additional GPPL is also applicable for adoptive fathers where the Formal Intent to Adopt (FIA) date is on or after 1 Jan 2024. For fathers who are employees, their employer must also agree to allow them to take this additional GPPL.

Working fathers who do not qualify for GPPL due to the nature of their employment arrangements may be eligible for GPPB, if their child’s date of birth, EDD or FIA is on or after 1 Jan 2024.

If you are a father of a SC child with an EDD on or after 1 Jan 2024 but was born before 1 Jan 2024, and you meet other eligibility criteria for the enhancements (e.g. employer is agreeable to grant the additional GPPL), you or your employer may email contactus@profamilyleave.gov.sg and submit a copy of the doctor's certification of the child’s EDD. The doctor’s certification should include the following details:

a. EDD

b. Mother's name and identification number

c. Name of clinic

d. Doctor's signature/MCR number

Please note that claims for the additional 2 weeks of GPPL or GPPB can only be submitted on or after 1 Jan 2024.
