Who is the Appeal Board?

The Appeal Board is an independent body comprising members appointed by the Minister for Manpower for a term of 3 years which may be renewed. The current Chairman is Mr Toh Han Li, Principal District Judge (Criminal Courts Cluster) of the State Courts.

The other members of the Appeal Board are:

  • Mr Joe Sim, Group Chief Operating Officer of IHH Healthcare Berhad
  • Mr Shahrukh Marfatia, Director and Corporate Advisor of WhiteCrow Research Asia Pacific
  • Mr Ng Cher Pong, Chief Executive Officer, National Library Board (NLB)
  • Mr Kenneth Yap, Registrar of the Family Justice Courts
  • Mr Ramesh Kumar, Partner at Allen & Gledhill LLP
  • Mr Wan Kwong Weng, Group Chief Corporate Officer and Group General Counsel of Mapletree Investments
