I am an MDW employer. Why do I need to notify the EA before cancelling the MDW’s work permit in order to get a refund?
EAs are responsible for facilitating good matches between employers and MDWs.
If a match was not successful and resulted in an early termination, the EA should be notified within a reasonable time before the cancellation of the MDW’s work permit. EA could then be given time to speak with the MDW and employer to better understand the reasons that led to the termination and improve their matching.
