How much is the outpatient deductible? Will I need to pay more out of pocket for outpatient consultation?
The outpatient deductible is set at $500 to strike a balance between ensuring that it can sieve out smaller bills meaningfully and moderate the extent to which premiums need to increase by, whilst not overly affecting affordability for patients. It applies for all admissions on or after 1 Jan 2026 and is fully payable by MediSave. There should generally be no increase in out-of-pocket payable as long as you have sufficient MediSave.
For those with insufficient MediSave, the Government will provide additional support such as MediSave top-ups. There is also MediFund to help those who are unable to afford their bills even after subsidies, MediShield Life and MediSave.
