Must the QAC include external parties?
Healthcare Services (General) Regulations, Committees appointed by licensee
QACs are not required to have external members.
In the case of a conflict of interest when a case being reviewed by the QAC involves a QAC member, the licensees should put in place processes to resolve the conflict of interest, and ensure transparency and fairness, including requiring the implicated person to recuse himself from the QAC review, and appoint another qualified person to take over that role in fulfilling the QAC obligations.
