What is an Isolation Order (IO) or a Quarantine Order (QO)?

Updated by MOH

An Isolation Order (IO) or a Quarantine Order (QO) is a legal order issued under the Infectious Diseases Act 1976. It may be issued to a person who is suspected or confirmed to be a case or an at-risk individual (e.g. exposed contacts) of an infectious disease.  The IO or QO is necessary to limit the spread of the virus in the community.
