If the deceased was a non-Muslim, the estate will be distributed in accordance with the Intestate Succession Act 1967, which states that the distribution of any movable property (for example, monies in the bank account) will be regulated by the law of the country in which the person was domiciled at the time of their death.

The place of domicile refers to the place where the deceased intended his permanent home to be. It does not refer to his nationality or residence.

If the person who died was domiciled in Singapore at the time of his / her death, the estate will be distributed in accordance with the rules under the Intestate Succession Act 1967. Please see information in https://pto.mlaw.gov.sg/files/AnnexB_NonMuslims_Oct20.pdf.
