Legal aid is available to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents who are resident and present in Singapore, as well as citizens or residents of contracting states who are involved in applications under The Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction (HCCAICA).

If you are below the age of 21, your parent or guardian must apply on your behalf.

Legal aid applicants must also satisfy a Means Test and a Merits Test before they can receive legal aid.

If you are a citizen or resident of one of the contracting states of the HCCAICA and wish to apply for legal aid, please approach the Singapore Central Authority to assist you in your application, as all such applications must be made through the Singapore Central Authority.
