Can a bankrupt apply for credit cards or loans?

A bankrupt can apply for credit cards or loans. However, the application is subject to the approval of the financial institution.

Please also note that it is an offence for an undischarged bankrupt to obtain a loan of more than $1,000 from any person without informing the person, at the time the credit is obtained, of his status as an undischarged bankrupt.
