This meeting is meant to clarify any issues which the Official Assignee ("OA") and/or the creditors may have pertaining to the debtor's submission and to firm up the specific terms and conditions of the debtor's debt repayment plan.

It is compulsory for the debtor to attend the meeting of creditors unless he has obtained the prior permission of the OA to be absent from the meeting.

If the debtor absents himself from the meeting without a valid reason or if he fails to comply with the payment of the requisite fee, he may be found unsuitable for the DRS and his case will be referred back to the court.
