How will an enlistee enlisted under the refreshed MCS know which vocations he is eligible for, after BMT?

Updated by MINDEF

Similar to today, all NSFs will be deployed to a vocation based on his suitability, skills, interests, and the operational requirements of SAF.

For NSFs who have enlisted into the SAF, the BMT programme they were assigned to can serve as an approximate gauge of the vocations he can expect to qualify for:

·       BMT Programme 1: Eligible for all vocations.

·       BMT Programme 2: Eligible for Combat Support, Combat Service Support, Service, and some Combat vocations.

·       BMT Programme 3: Eligible for Combat Service Support and some Combat Support vocations.

For NSFs who have enlisted into the Home Team, the Basic Training programme they were assigned to can serve as an approximate gauge of the vocations he can expect to qualify for:

·       Basic Programme 1: Eligible for all vocations.

·       Basic Programme 2: Eligible for Frontline(Support), Service Support, Service, and some Frontline vocations.

·       Basic Programme 3: Eligible for Service Support and some Frontline(Support) vocations.
