The refreshed MCS enables a more precise assessment of a serviceman’s medical fitness and functional capacity, which may allow some individuals to be considered for a wider range of roles than before. However, all deployment decisions continue to be guided by medical eligibility and operational requirements.

Safety remains a key priority. Servicemen will only be deployed to roles and training activities that they are medically fit for, based on clearly defined medical exemptions.
