Do I need to apply for an Exit Permit if I have been called up for ICT or placed on Operational/Mobilisation manning, if I am overseas for less than 12 months?

If you are going overseas for a period of 6 months to a year, you are strongly encouraged to inform your unit before travelling out of Singapore. You must also provide MINDEF with your updated contact information via My Personal Information, including temporary changes to your contact information during overseas travel, so that your unit can contact you if necessary. You may be subject to disciplinary action if you fail to do so.

If you are called up for ICT or placed on operational/mobilisation manning while already overseas, you do not need to apply for an Exit Permit. However, you must apply for deferment for your ICT or seek approval to be excused from operational/mobilisation manning via ICT and Manning.

If you are already on operational/mobilisation manning, you are not allowed to travel overseas, and are required to seek permission from your unit before travelling out of Singapore regardless of trip duration.
