Who is liable for National Service (NS)?
Under the Enlistment Act 1970, all male Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents (SPR) are required to serve National Service (NS) upon reaching the age of 18 years. SPR under the Professionals/Technical Personnel and Skilled Workers (PTS) Scheme are administratively exempted from NS.
