I want to apply for Singapore Permanent Residency (SPR). Can I know if I need to serve National Service (NS) if I obtain the SPR status?

Under the Enlistment Act 1970, all male Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents (SPR) will be scheduled for enlistment upon reaching the age of 18 years. SPRs granted under the Professionals/Technical Personnel and Skilled Workers (PTS) Scheme are administratively exempted from National Service (NS).
