I am overseas and won't be coming back to Singapore to serve NS.
Under the Enlistment Act 1970, all male Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents (SPR) will be scheduled for enlistment upon reaching the age of 18 years. The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) takes a tough stand against those who default on their NS obligations. Under the Enlistment Act, NS defaulters shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or both.
