Why is the Rank Pay different from the Basic Rank Pay reflected in the payslip?

Rank Pay is made up of three components, namely Basic Rank Pay, Non-Pensionable Component (NPC) and Monthly Variable Component (MVC). Since Basic Rank Pay is only part of Rank Pay, its amount is therefore different from that of Rank Pay.
