What is Trafficking In Persons?

Updated by MHA
Trafficking In Persons (TIP) is a serious transnational crime involving the exploitation of vulnerable victims. Singapore takes a serious view of TIP and has in place robust laws and processes, and a strong law enforcement system to prevent and combat such offences. To strengthen national efforts, the Singapore Inter-Agency Taskforce on Trafficking In Persons was established in 2010. Co-led by MHA and the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the Taskforce formulates and coordinates national policies and programmes to prevent and combat human trafficking.
