How do I decide whether the Integrated Programme or SEC Programme is more suitable for me?
As MGS is a dual-track school with both the Integrated Programme (IP) and Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) Programme, our DSA talent areas are applicable for both tracks.
- The MGS IP is a six-year integrated programme that leads to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) in Years 5 and 6.
- The MGS SEC Programme is a four-year programme culminating in the Singapore-Cambridge SEC examinations, after which various post-secondary options are available.
We encourage students and parents to consider which track is more suitable, depending on the individual students' learning dispositions.
Both tracks have very rich and enriching learning environments with teachers typically teaching across tracks. In each track, students are exposed to subjects that strengthen critical thinking and inquiry, collaboration and communication.
The SEC programme typically offers a more structured learning environment, while the IP is best suited for students who are comfortable with more fast-paced, independent learning, as well as a greater emphasis on authentic, project-based group tasks.
