If the deceased's HDB flat has been transferred to his surviving spouse named in the Will, and the spouse subsequently wishes to add their son as co-owner, is stamp duty payable on the transfer?
Buyer's Stamp Duty (BSD) and Seller's Stamp Duty (SSD) remission may be applicable on the transfer of the partial share to the son under the Transfer of HDB Flat within Family Remission if the remission conditions are met.
Additional Buyer's Stamp Duty (ABSD) remission may be applicable on the transfer under the Acquisition of HDB Flats and new Executive Condominium (EC) Units Remission if the remission conditions are met.
