If I paid the option fee for a resale condo on 15 May 2025 and exercise the Option to Purchase (OTP) on 9 July 2025, will I be subject to Seller’s Stamp Duty (SSD) if I sell the condo in 2028?
Yes. As the property is purchased on 9 Jul 2025, the holding period is 4 years. If you sell the property before 9 Jul 2029, you will be subjected to the SSD rates of 4%-16%. If you sell the property on or after 9 July 2029, no SSD is payable.
You may refer to Seller's Stamp Duty (SSD) for more information on SSD and its stipulated holding period.

My wife and I purchased a private residential property on 1 Oct 2005. On 10 Mar 2022, my wife transferred her half share of the property to me by way of gift. As a result, I became the sole owner of the property. I sold the property on 1 Sep 2022. As I have been an owner and occupant of the property since 1 Oct 2005, do I need to pay Seller's Stamp Duty (SSD) on the sale?
