I am a US Citizen who is also a Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR). If I am to purchase a residential property, is Additional Buyer's Stamp Duty (ABSD) payable at SPR rate or Foreigner rate?
As a US Citizen, you will receive the same Stamp Duty treatment as Singapore Citizens under the Free Trade Agreement ABSD Remission.
For the purchase of a residential property, ABSD may be payable. However, the ABSD will be computed at the rate applicable to Singapore Citizens rather than the rate for SPRs.
