Your marital status will be recognised for your foreign spouse's application for immigration facilities so long as you are able to show proof that your marriage certificate is recognised in the foreign country/place where you had performed your customary marriage.
The Letter of Consent (LOC) is not meant for LTVP/LTVP+ holders to set up his or her own business. You may visit ACRA for more information on setting up of business in Singapore.
Parents, parents-in-law or children are not eligible for LTVP+. The LTVP+ is only for eligible spouses of Singapore citizens.
You may refer to ICA website for more information on LTVP/LTVP+ application.
Marriage to a Singapore citizen does not automatically qualify a foreigner for long term stay, permanent residence (PR) or citizenship in Singapore. Foreign spouses of Singapore citizens may apply for long term stay, PR or citizenship for ICA's consideration. All applications are assessed based on the prevailing guidelines which include considerations such as whether the sponsor is able to support his/her dependant's stay in Singapore and whether the marriage is genuine. All applications are considered on its own merits.
You are not required to cancel your LTVP. You may depart Singapore with the LTVP. Do note that the LTVP will lapse upon its expiry date. Should you wish to re-enter Singapore after your LTVP had expired, you may do so as a normal visitor, subject to meeting the usual entry requirements.
Couples who have at least one child who is a Singapore citizen from their marriage or where the foreign spouse is pregnant may be eligible for LTVP+. Other consideration factors may include the marriage duration, ability of the sponsor to financially support the family, and good conduct of both the sponsor and the applicant. In general, applicants may be considered more favourably for LTVP+ if they have been married for at least three years. Each application will be considered on its own merits.
