Can I change the parent's name on child's birth certificate?
The parents’ identification details shown on a child’s birth certificate are based on the official documents provided at the time of birth registration. After the birth is registered, ICA does not update the parents’ details on the child’s birth certificate.
If a parent has changed their name, use the parent’s deed poll together with the child’s birth certificate for transactions that require verification of the updated name. The updated name will not appear on the child’s birth certificate.
