Does the Singapore Permanent Residence (PR) status expires?
The Singapore PR status will not expire. However, a valid Re-Entry Permit (REP) is needed each time a Singapore PR travels abroad. The REP allows you to retain your Singapore PR status while you are outside of Singapore.
If you are outside Singapore without a valid REP, you have to apply for an REP within 180 days from the date you are first physically outside Singapore without a valid REP to retain your PR status.
The REP application is subject to approval on a case-by-case basis. If you had applied for a new REP within the 180-day period, you will remain a PR until there is an outcome to your REP application. If your REP application is unsuccessful, you will lose your PR status the day after the REP application outcome is sent to you.
You will also lose your PR status automatically if you do not apply for a new REP within this 180-day period.
