Who is eligible for shingles vaccination (RHZV) subsidies, and how much will it cost?
Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs) are eligible for shingles vaccination subsidies if you are recommended for shingles vaccination under the National Adult Immunisation Schedule (NAIS). MediSave can also be used to cover the out-of-pocket expense at both CHAS GP clinics and polyclinics mid-2026 onwards. More information on NAIS is available here.
At CHAS GP clinics, pricing for subsidised shingles vaccinations is fixed for eligible Singapore citizens aged (i) 60 years old and above, or (ii) 18 - 59 years old with certain medical conditions. The subsidised prices (per dose) are as follows:
Pioneer Generation (PG): $38
Merdeka Generation (MG)/ CHAS Blue/ CHAS Orange: $75
CHAS Green/ Non-CHAS: $150
At polyclinics, eligible Singaporeans and PRs may receive up to 75% subsidy, with additional subsidies for Pioneer Generation (PG) and Merdeka Generation (MG) cardholders. At polyclinics, vaccination charges are means-tested. This means the cost depends on your financial situation, such as Per Capita Household Income (PCHI) or Annual Value (AV) of property. As a result, PG and MG cardholders with higher PCHI or AV may pay more compared to those with lower PCHI or AV.
Do note that if you do not meet the eligibility criteria for shingles vaccination subsidies after being reviewed by your doctor, you will need to pay the charges as indicated by the clinic. Individuals are recommended to confirm the total cost with the clinic before proceeding with the vaccination.
