Can I request to extend the validity period of the HFE letter?

The HFE letter is valid for 9 months from the date of issue and HDB is unable to extend its validity. If your HFE letter is expiring in the next 30 days and you need more time to secure an ideal home, you may apply for a fresh HFE letter if there are no changes in the applicant(s) and occupier(s) listed in the previous HFE letter application other than their employment or income. HDB will process your application based on your latest circumstances and the prevailing policies. Until a fresh HFE letter is issued, you may continue using the existing HFE letter for a flat purchased, as long as it has not expired.   Do note that if you have been shortlisted within 100% of the flat supply (for sales launches from Sep 2023 onwards) or you have already booked a flat, you do not need a fresh HFE letter.
