What are the types of curriculum approaches adopted by preschools in Singapore?
Programme & Curriculum
Preschools may adopt different curriculum approaches depending on their philosophies and pedagogical beliefs. However, preschools should align their curriculum to the Early Years Development Framework (EYDF) for children aged 18 months to 3 years old, and Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) curriculum framework for children aged 4 to 6 years old, which focus on key aspects to support children’s development, such as social-emotional competencies, language, gross motor development, etc. Parents may approach preschools directly to learn more about their curriculum and evaluate if they meet the needs of their child.
