If I used cash, MediSave and MediShield Life for my medical bill, is there a specific order in which my employer or insurer should perform the reimbursement?
Subject to contractual obligations, your employer or insurer should reimburse you in the following order:
Step 1: Cash reimbursement
Reimburse the amount paid in cash directly to you.
Step 2: MediSave reimbursement
If MediSave was used for the medical bill, reimburse the amount utilised from the payer's or your MediSave Account directly to CPF Board.
Step 3: MediShield Life / Integrated Shield Plan reimbursement
If MediShield Life was used for the medical bill, reimburse the amount utilised directly to CPF Board. If a MediSave-approved Integrated Shield Plan was used, reimburse the amount utilised directly to the Shield plan insurer.
This order minimises your cash outlay and restores the balance in the payer’s or your MediSave Account.
