If I used cash, MediSave and MediShield Life for my medical bill, is there a specific order in which my employer or insurer should perform the reimbursement?
Subject to contractual obligations, your employer or insurer should reimburse you in the following order:
i. Cash reimbursement - For the amount you paid in cash.
ii. MediSave reimbursement - For the amount utilised from your payer's or your MediSave Account.
iii. MediShield Life reimbursement - For the amount utilised from your MediSave-approved Integrated Shield Plan or MediShield Life.
This order minimises your cash outlay and restores the balances in your MediSave Account.
