I encountered an error informing me that the name I keyed for my appointee was different from his NRIC/CPF Account Number. How can I resolve this?
You should key in the full name of your appointee as per his NRIC. This includes any punctuation such as the comma (,), hyphen (-), and slash (/).
However, you should exclude the Hanyu Pinyin, Alias and Married name. See examples of NRIC names.
If you are still encountering problems in submitting your Trusted Contact appointment request, we recommend that you check the following:
However, you should exclude the Hanyu Pinyin, Alias and Married name. See examples of NRIC names.
If you are still encountering problems in submitting your Trusted Contact appointment request, we recommend that you check the following:
- Check for the correct spacing of characters in the names of your appointee.
For example:
- John⎵Tan should not be written as John⎵⎵Tan or John⎵Tan⎵
- D/O should not be written as D / O, and likewise for S/O
- Avoid copy-pasting the details from another program or app as there might be hidden characters that might get copied. Key in the appointee’s particulars manually instead.
- If you are using an iOS device (such as iPhone or iPad), disable the “Smart Punctuation” feature in iOS (iOS device Settings > General > Keyboard > Turn off Smart Punctuation). This feature might create unrecognisable characters in the application form.
- Avoid opening multiple browser tabs. Use only one browser tab and clear your browser cache.
- Consider using a different device to submit your Trusted Contact appointment request if submission via your original device is still unsuccessful.
If you continue to encounter the same error despite the above, you can write to us via Singpass with the following details for assistance:
- A screenshot of the name of your appointee,
- The time and date when the error occurred, and
-
Details of the device that you are using to submit your Trusted Contact appointment request.
