You can attend and vote at meetings for shareholders, bondholders, or unit holders if you hold these investments under CPF Investment Scheme (CPFIS):
  • Shares of Companies incorporated in Singapore (click this link to check if a company is incorporated in Singapore)
  • REITs
  • Corporate bonds
  •  Unit trusts
If you hold shares, REITs, or corporate bonds under CPFIS, you generally do not need to inform your agent bank of your attendance. Your agent bank will automatically appoint you as a proxy to attend and vote at the meetings. You will be appointed to exercise the rights attached to the shares, REITs, or corporate bonds held by you.

However, for specific events such as schemes of arrangement, where only one proxy is allowed, you will need to pre-register your attendance with your agent bank. This ensures that you can be appointed as the proxy for these special circumstances.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, you cannot appoint a proxy to attend on your behalf. Instead, you may indicate your voting preference to your agent bank, who will vote on your behalf.

If you hold other investments like shares of foreign-incorporated companies or business trusts and wish to attend the meeting, you need to pre-register your attendance with your agent bank. Thereafter, you may attend the meeting as an observer only. However, you may indicate your voting preference to your agent bank, who will vote on your behalf.

If you hold unit trusts, you will be notified by the registrars, and you can attend the meeting directly.

Identification requirements
CPFIS investors must bring their NRIC/passport for identity verification at the registration counter(s) outside the meeting venues. Companies reserve the right to refuse admittance to their meetings if attendees' identities cannot be verified.
