I encountered an error informing me that the name I keyed for my nominee was different from his NRIC/CPF Account No. How can I resolve this?

For Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Resident nominees, you must enter their full name exactly as shown on their NRIC, including all punctuation marks like commas (,), hyphens (-), slashes (/) and the arrangement of how the name is spelt.

Do not include Hanyu Pinyin, aliases, or married names.

If you are still facing submission issues, here are some troubleshooting steps:

Name Format
  • Ensure correct spacing between characters (e.g., "John⎵Tan" should not be indicated as "John⎵⎵Tan" or "John⎵Tan⎵")
  • Write relationship indicators without spaces (e.g., "D/O" not "D / O", and likewise for "S/O")
  • John Tan should be indicated as John Tan and not Tan John
Technical Tips
  • Type the nominee's details directly instead of copy-pasting from other sources to avoid hidden characters
  • For iOS users (such as iPhone or iPad): Disable “Smart Punctuation” under Settings > General > Keyboard > Turn off Smart Punctuation
  • Use only one browser tab and clear your browser cache
  • Try using a different device if the problem persists
If the error continues, you can:
  1. Write to us with the following details:
    • A screenshot of your nominee's name
    • The error occurrence time and date
    • Your device details
  2. Visit any Service SG Centres for assistance with your online nomination

  3. Make your nomination at our CPF Service Centres
