Why do I have to pay for my child's outstanding MediShield Life premiums?

Updated by CPF
Under MediShield Life Act/Regulations, parents are liable to pay for their child’s MediShield Life premiums until the child is 21 years old.

We will deduct your child's outstanding premiums from your or the other parent’s MediSave Account. If you have insufficient MediSave savings, you can top up your child’s or your MediSave Account to pay your child’s premiums.
