I was told by my dentist that I cannot use my Flexi-MediSave for my dental treatments. Why is that so?

Flexi-MediSave is meant to help with recurrent outpatient medical expenses, which many older Singaporeans have raised as a key concern due to significant accumulated bill sizes over the longer term.

Dental expenses are not covered under Flexi-MediSave as they are less frequent and patients already benefit from generous government subsidies – for example, at CHAS dental clinics and public institutions such as the polyclinics and National Dental Centre.

Nevertheless, patients can use MediSave under the MediSave limits for day surgeries for selected complex dental procedures.
