I am not a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident. I have recently checked my CPF account and noticed that my CPF balance is $0. Why is this so, as I have yet to withdraw my CPF monies?

As you are no longer a Singapore Citizen / Permanent Resident, your CPF account has been automatically closed in the month following your renunciation. Any remaining CPF savings have been transferred out of your CPF account into the General Moneys of the Fund (GMF)* and stopped earning the prevailing CPF interest.

As a concession, the savings will earn interest similar to commercial bank interest rates until 31 March 2027. You are encouraged to transfer your savings to your bank account as soon as possible.

To transfer your CPF savings to your bank account, please refer to the steps here, under “Take Action”.

* The GMF is an account where CPF Board holds unclaimed monies on behalf of CPF members, nominees or beneficiaries.
