Can the deceased member's MediSave be used to pay his final hospitalisation bill?

Yes, the deceased member’s entire MediSave can be used to pay the last hospital bill if he had signed the Medical Claims Authorisation Form (MCAF), which authorises the use of the deceased member’s MediSave to pay the hospitalisation bill, before his passing.

Any remaining MediSave after the payment of the last medical bill will be distributed to the deceased member’s nominee(s) if he had a valid nomination. This is provided that the MediSave deduction is completed before the distribution of the deceased member’s CPF balances.
