You need a Class 1 activity permit for unmanned aircraft activities that are not for recreational or educational purposes. To apply for a Class 1 activity permit, you must also have a valid operator permit.

For outdoor recreational or educational activities, you will need a Class 2 activity permit if any of the following conditions apply:

  • Operating altitude higher than 200 feet above mean sea level (AMSL);

  • Within 5km of a civil aerodrome /military airbase; or

  • Within any Restricted Area or Danger Area.
