You may use OneMap to check whether your planned UA activity location is within 5km of a civil aerodrome / military airbase, or within any protected, prohibited, restricted or danger areas.

CAAS has designated OneMap’s “Drone Query” as the only authoritative source for checking Singapore’s no-fly zones (including areas within 5km of an aerodrome, and gazetted restricted and danger areas).

How to check:

1. Go to OneMap “Drone Query”: https://www.onemap.gov.sg/droneQuery

2. Search for your intended location (e.g. by address, postal code, or place name), or pan/zoom to the area on the map.

3. Review the map overlays and any on-screen information indicating whether the location is:

• within 5km of any aerodrome (civil airport or military airbase); and/or

• within restricted areas or danger areas (as published in the Government Gazette).

4. If the location is shown to be within these areas, you may need an Activity Permit (AP) depending on your UA weight, purpose, and operating conditions. For example, recreational operations with a UA up to 25kg (or educational operations up to 7kg) generally require a Class 2 Activity Permit if you are operating within 5km of an aerodrome, or within a restricted/danger area, or above 200ft AMSL.

Additional guidance:

• If you intend to fly near an aerodrome (within 5km), CAAS may apply more stringent safety assessment to prevent interference with manned aircraft operations. Additional risk mitigations (e.g. tethering and/or a flight termination system) may be required on a case-by-case basis.

• Always confirm your exact take-off/landing point and the entire intended flight area (not just a single point), because your UA may drift (e.g. in a power failure) and inadvertently enter a restricted area.
