What will happen if I hoist a captive balloon in areas where it is restricted?

It is an offence to hoist a captive balloon if the following conditions are not met:

Within 1km of the flight funnels* of an airport or an airbase | Permit from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required | Permit from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required | Permit from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required |
Outside of the flight funnels* within 5km of an airport or an airbase | Notification to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required | Permit from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required | Permit from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required |
Outside 5km of an airport or an airbase | Notification to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required | Notification to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required | Permit from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required |
Anyone convicted of such an offence may be fined up to $20,000. Repeat offenders may be fined up to $40,000, or imprisoned for up to 15 months, or both.
