What will happen if I hoist a captive balloon in areas where it is restricted?

It is an offence to hoist a captive balloon if the following conditions are not met:


Area/Height

Up to 130 feet

Up to 290 feet

Above 290 feet

Within 1km of the flight funnels* of an airport or an airbase

Permit from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required

Permit from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required

Permit from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required

Outside of the flight funnels* within 5km of an airport or an airbase

Notification to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required

Permit from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required

Permit from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required

Outside 5km of an airport or an airbase

Notification to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required

Notification to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required

Permit from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) required

Anyone convicted of such an offence may be fined up to $20,000. Repeat offenders may be fined up to $40,000, or imprisoned for up to 15 months, or both.
