What is a professional pilot licence?

There are three types of professional pilot licences viz. Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), Multi-crew Pilot Licence (MPL) and Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL). These are meant for pilots who would like to pursue commercial flying as a career. The privileges of each licence are listed below:

Instrument flying privileges are not included in the licence privileges. To conduct instrument flying, an Instrument Rating has to be obtained separately.

Group B aircraft: Multi-engine aircraft not exceeding 5,700 kg in maximum total mass.
