How do I convert my foreign professional pilot licence to a Singapore one?

You will need to submit the application and supporting documents online in CAPELS.

In general, to convert your foreign professional pilot licence, you must meet the following requirements:


  • Be at least 18 years old for CPL (or 21 years old for ATPL) and below 65 years old.

  • Demonstrate the need to hold a Singapore licence such as obtaining a formal letter from a Singapore air operator or approved aviation organisation indicating prospective employment in a flying capacity.

  • Hold a valid foreign professional pilot licence, relevant Medical Assessment and valid Radiotelephony Licence

  • Produce the appropriate theoretical knowledge examination results (e.g. CPL or ATPL level) completed with the foreign licensing authority.

  • Meet the flying experience requirements stipulated in Chapter 11 of the Singapore Air Safety Publication (SASP) Part 2.

As part of the conversion process, you will be required to complete certain examinations, English language assessment and flight test(s). More detailed information can be found in Chapter 11 of the Singapore Air Safety Publication (SASP) Part 2.
