What are the requirements for a Private Pilot Licence (PPL)?

In order to obtain a PPL, you would need to meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 17 years old

  • Be certified to at least Operational Level (Level 4) of the ICAO Language Proficiency Rating Scale. The language proficiency requirements does not apply for a restricted PPL.

  • Pass the Class 2 Medical Assessment with the Civil Aviation Medical Board (CAMB) or pass the Class 1 Medical assessment if you are applying for a PPL with Instrument Rating (IR)

  • Pass the PPL examinations. You may apply for the examinations at the CAAS Examination Portal.

  • Pass the PPL flight test. You may apply for the flight test on CAPELS.

  • Meet the flying experience requirements stipulated in the Singapore Air Safety Publication (SASP) Part 1.

Register for the CAAS Examination.
