What are the requirements for an Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML)?
To qualify for an AML, you must meet the following requirements:
be at least 21 years of age;
be able to read, write and communicate in English to an understandable level necessary for the technical work of an aircraft maintenance engineer; and
be able to demonstrate a need to hold the licence (i.e. your application must be supported by an approved aircraft maintenance organisation or a Singapore air operator).
In addition, you will need to pass the relevant SAR-66 examinations (see Advisory Circular AC 66-13 (SAR-66 Basic Examinations)) and demonstrate sufficient experience with a Schedule of Experience (SOE) (see Advisory Circular AC 66-2 Guide to Compilation of Schedule of Experience and On-The-Job Training), applicable to the category of AML you are applying for. Details can be found in the Singapore Airworthiness Requirements (SAR) Part 66.
