[If the Patient did not apply to withdraw from his/her spouse’s MediSave Account]
If your MediSave Account balance is between $5,000 and $9,999, a cash withdrawal of $50 will be made from your MediSave Account to your nominated bank account. However, if your MediSave balance falls below $5,000 (i.e. $4,999 and below), you will not be able to withdraw from your MediSave Account under the MediSave Care scheme.
You are not required to submit a new application every time your MediSave Account balance falls below $5,000. However, if your MediSave Account balance falls below $5,000 for three consecutive months (i.e. $0 withdrawal from your MediSave Account for three consecutive months), a letter will be sent to inform you that your MediSave Care withdrawals will be ceased. You will be automatically assessed for eligibility either for IDAPE or ElderFund. If you are found to be eligible, you will be informed to consider applying IDAPE or ElderFund instead.
[Note: After cessation, if the Patient would like to apply again as his/her MediSave Account balance is more than $5,000, the Patient has to submit a new application.]
[If the Patient had applied to withdraw from his/her spouse’s MediSave Account as Patient’s own MediSave Account balance is insufficient]
If your MediSave Account balance falls below $5,000, the CPF Board will not be able to withdraw from your MediSave Account under the MediSave Care scheme. If you have indicated earlier in your application to withdraw from your spouse’s MediSave Account, the CPF Board will attempt to withdraw from your spouse’s MediSave Account. The cash withdrawal amount will be based on your spouse’s MediSave Account balance, and the withdrawal limit that you had set when you first applied.
You are not required to submit a new application every time your or your spouse’s MediSave Account balance falls below $5,000. However, if both MediSave Account balances fall below $5,000 for three consecutive months (i.e. $0 withdrawal from both MediSave Accounts for three consecutive months), your MediSave Care withdrawals will be ceased. You will be automatically assessed for eligibility either for IDAPE or ElderFund. If you are found to be eligible, you will be informed to consider submitting an application for IDAPE or ElderFund instead.
[Note: After cessation, if the Patient would like to apply again as his/her MediSave Account balance is more than $5,000, the Patient has to submit a new application.]
