What is Shared Stay-in Senior Caregiving Services (Stay-in SCS)? Who is this service intended for?
The Shared Stay-in Senior Caregiving Services (Stay-in SCS) aims to support seniors to age in the community through a shared caregiver providing basic support with daily living tasks, meals, housekeeping and social activities to a group of individuals living in the same residence. The shared caregiver does not provide any medical or nursing care for the senior. Such tasks will need to be additionally arranged to be provided by a relevant healthcare professional and/or licensed healthcare service provider. Family members are closely involved in this care model as they will have to communicate regularly with the care staff on care preferences and decisions for their loved ones.
This is service is suitable for seniors who require some but not extensive assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and are either cognitively competent or have a next-of-kin (NOK) to make caregiving decisions.
More information can be found in the Stay-in SCS good practice guide found at aic.sg/partners/stay-in-scs. You may also wish to approach your selected Stay-in SCS provider for more information on their service offerings.
