Is Home Caregiving Grant Scheme (HCG) means tested?

Updated by AIC

Yes. This grant is means-tested.

Currently, the care recipient and his/her household has per capita household monthly income of *$3,600 or less,OR belong to a household with no income and living in a residence with Annual Value of less than $21,000.

With the HCG enhancements taking place from April 2026, the maximum payout will increase from $400 to $600 per month for those with the highest needs.

The maximum monthly household income per person will also rise from $3,600 to $4,800, so more families can qualify.
