Can my son/ward apply to take Mother Tongue Language Syllabus 'B' (MTL'B')? (before 2024 FSBB batch)

Updated by ACS(BR)

MOE's educational goal remains to support and enable every student to learn Mother Tongue Language (MTL) at as high a level as he is able to. Students are strongly encouraged to continue to take their respective MTL at standard level throughout the 4 or 5 years in ACS(BR).

MTL'B' is usually offered upon the following special considerations on a case-by-case basis:

[For Full SBB from 2024 onward]
Students who scored AL 7 or 8 in standard MTL or AL B or C in Foundation MTL at PSLE can offer MTL at a Lower Demand level (LDL) at the start of Secondary 1. For students who are unable to cope with their current level of MTL, can also appeal to take MTL at G1 or G2 level, at the end of the academic year in Secondary 1 - 3.
