VCO Professional Development

Updated by SPSVCO

The Volunteer Case Officers (VCOs) come with varying levels of experience. Not all learning can happen through training alone. Mentoring for VCOs is a platform to:

  • Translate training into real-life practice and provides on the ground guidance

  • Facilitate cross-learning between VCOs and strengthen collective capability and shared practice

  • Build a community of support among VCOs

The objectives of the mentoring are to:

  • Provide Support - For new VCOs as they embark on their volunteer work with offenders in the community

  • Develop Capability- Build skills through ongoing and practical guidance to newer VCOs

  • Foster Learning - Promote reflection and peer exchange of experiences, practices and resources among VCOs
